Insulin is secreted by the pancreas. It converts excess of glucose in the blood into the glycogen which is stored in the liver and muscles of our body.
Diabetes is caused due to the malfunctioning of pancreas as a result sufficient amount of insulin is not synthesised by the gland. And in order to control the blood sugar level diabetic patients are injected with insulin for keeping the body's blood sugar level in a healthy range.
