Solution

The correct option is A Does not code for protein synthesis
Eukaryotic DNA has introns and exons. The protein coding part of eukaryotic DNA is exon while the gene sequences that are present between exons and do not code for any protein product are called as introns. This makes option A wrong and option C correct. DNA ligase enzyme joins two DNA fragments together via phosphodiester bond between 3’ hydroxyl at the end of one fragment and a 5’ phosphate at the end of another fragment. Option B is incorrect. The promoter is a DNA segment that serves to initiate transcription of a particular gene. They are present upstream near the transcription start sites of genes and provide the binding site for RNA polymerase enzyme. RNA pol does not bind to introns; option D is incorrect. Correct answer is C
