A reaction which is not the first-order reaction naturally but made first order by increasing or decreasing the concentration of one or the other reactant is known as Pseudo first order reaction. Pseudo means ‘fake’.
Here, Breaking down of sugar into glucose and fructose is not a first order reaction. But, it is made one by increasing the concentration of one of the reaction. Hence, Inversion of cane sugar is a pseudo first order reaction.
