Solution

To find the fraction of the books read by Ira, Ritu and Divya we will use the following steps:

Step 1: Finding the fraction of the book read by Ira.

Number of pages read by Ira =25

Total number of pages in the book =100

Therefore fraction of the book read by Ira =25100

Also, 25100 in simplest form can be written as 25100=25÷25100÷25=14.

Step 2: Finding the fraction of the book read by Ritu.

Number of pages read by Ritu=40

Total number of pages in the book =160

Therefore, fraction of the book read by Ritu =40160

Also, 40160 in simplest form can be written as 40160=40÷40160÷40=14

Step 3: Finding the fraction of the book read by Divya.

Again, number of pages read by Divya=30

Total number of pages in the book =120

Therefore, fraction of the book read by Divya=30120

Also, 30120 in simplest form can be written as 30120=30÷30120÷30=14

From the above three Steps it is clear that fractions of the book read by Ira, Ritu and Divya is 14. Hence, they all have read the same fraction of their books.
