Solution

Dear Student,

Iron react with concentrated sulphuric acid and gives ferrous sulphate, ferric sulphate, water and sulphur dioxide.

Reaction : 3Fe + 8H2SO4 ----> FeSO4 + Fe2(SO4)3 + 4SO2 + 8H2O

Concentrated sulphuric acid act as oxidising agent and results in the formation of ferric sulphate in which iron is present in +3 oxidation state.
