Question

Is (2x3) a factor of p(x)=2x39x2+x+10?

Open in App
Solution

If 2x3 is the factor of p(x),

then 2x3=0 x=32, must be the root of p(x).

Substitute this in p(x), we get,

p(32)= 2(32)39(32)2+32+10

=274814+464=2

So, p(32)0

Hence, (2x3) is not the factor of p(x).
