Open in App
Solution

Homopolymer and Copolymer

Homopolymer -A homopolymer is defined as a polymer that has the single monomer species throughout in the chain.

Copolymer -A copolymer is a polymer that is made up of two different monomers.

Type of given polymer

Given polymer is polystyrene which is obtained by the only single monomeric species of styrene.

Hence, it is a homopolymer and its monomeric unit is styrene (C6H5CH=CH2).
