Red, yellow and orange are traditionally associated with warm or hot things, like the shining sun, a glowing sunset or a roaring fire. So a pencil with red, yellow and orange colour are hot.

But a pencil with green, blue, sky, violet colour are cold as these kinds of colours are naturally cold and tends to create calm, quiet, recede into the background.
