Question

Is air around us always transparent? Discuss.

Open in App
Solution

Air is a transparent medium that allows light to completely pass through it. However, when it has pollutants such as smoke and dust, it can become translucent and partially blocks some light from passing through it.
Hence, pure air without mixture serves as a transparent medium for light, and impure or polluted air serves as a translucent medium.
