Question

Is all life on earth DNA based?

Open in App
Solution

DNA:

  1. Deoxyribonucleic acid is a polymer made up of two polynucleotide chains that coil around each other to form a double helix carrying genetic instructions for the development, growth, and functioning of all organisms and most viruses.
  2. Archaea, bacteria, eukaryotes, and all DNA viruses use C, T, G, and A nucleotides present in the DNA.
  3. All life on earth is DNA based because it has double strands, and hydrogen bonds and is more stable compared to RNA.
  4. At first, RNA was the genetic material of all organisms on earth, but afterward, it evolved into a more stable compound DNA.
  5. So, we can say that all life on earth is DNA based.
