Open in App
Solution

Molecules

  1. Molecules are the building blocks of all materials.
  2. Many molecules combine to form a matter.
  3. Molecules are capable of independent existence.
  4. A molecule is a chemical substance formed by two or more atoms.
  5. For example: H2 molecule is formed by the combination of two Hydrogen atoms.
  6. Atoms cannot exist independently because they are not stable (as their octet is not complete).
  7. Atoms react with other atoms to complete their octet and gain stability, and then exist as a molecule.

Hence, a molecule is always capable of independent existence.
