Annelida:

  1. They are triploblastic as they consist of three germ layers (ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm) during their embryonic development.
  2. They show bilateral symmetry that means body of these organisms can be cut into two equal halves in only one plane i.e. the median sagittal plane.
  3. Body of annelids is segmented both externally as well as internally.
  4. The characteristic feature of this phylum is , they show metamerism i.e. linear repetition of certain body parts.
