Autogamy:
The production of gametes by the division of a single parent cell is called Autogamy.
Maize is monoecious.
It has unisexual flowers.
Autogamy cannot occur in unisexual flowers as stamen and pistil are present on different flowers.
In autogamy, pollens are transferred to the stigma of the same flower.
Hence, autogamy can not be seen in maize.
