1. Breathlessness means difficulty in breathing.
2. It is often described as tightening of the chest and suffocation. This often happens after heavy exercise, in obese people.
3. Shortness of breath or breathlessness without any chest pain is a more severe symptom of heart problems than with only chest pain.
4. Breathlessness is a symptom of heart failure.
5. It occurs during the time of exertion but in most severe cases, breathlessness can occur during rest too.
