Question

Is the cartesian form the same as the rectangular form?

Open in App
Solution

Checking if the cartesian form is the same as the rectangular form.

The cartesian form is a system that helps us in representing a point, a line, or a plane in two dimensional or three-dimensional plane. It is in reference to the x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis.

whereas, the rectangular form is the representation of complex numbers in the form a+ib. This can also be represented in the two-dimensional or three-dimensional plane by finding out r=a2+b2andtanθ.

Therefore, both forms are just two different names of the same system.

Hence, the cartesian form is the same as the rectangular form.
