Dioecious and monoecious plants:

  1. Plants that have both female and male sexual organs or flowers on the same plant are called monoecious plants whereas dioecious plants do not have the female and male flowers on one plant,
  2. Castor Bean (Ricinus communis) is a monoecious plant.
  3. The flowers are gonochoric, but they are present in the same plant.
  4. It usually has distilled flowers at the top of the raceme and stamina flowers at the bottom.
