Chalk is a suspension because it is a heterogeneous mixture. It is insoluble. It does not dissolve in water. It contains solid particles. Small pieces of chalk remain suspended in the water. A suspension is formed. The solid particles in the liquid will sink to the bottom when left for a short time. The suspended particles can be be seen by the naked and can be separated by filtration.
