Cholecystokinin (CCK) is a peptide hormone secreted in the small intestine.
It stimulates the secretion of pancreatic enzymes from the pancreas and bile juice from the gallbladder.
Cholecystokinin regulates appetite by increasing the sensation of fullness in the short-term, i.e., during a meal rather than between meals. This might be done by affecting appetite centers in the brain as well as delaying emptying of the stomach.
