Question

is circular motion and accelerated motion

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student

Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity.

Now, since velocity is a vector quantity it changes when magnitude or direction.
So, velocity changes even when direction changes.

In circular motion even though magnitude of velocity might remain the same, the direction of velocity changes as it acts tangentially at every point.

Therefore circular motion is accelerated motion.
