1. Also known as chain's complex II, or succinate dehydrogenase.
2. Succinate dehydrogenase (complex 2) does not directly pump protons. It reduces ubiquinone to ubiquinol by transferring electrons to it.
3. Succinate dehydrogenase (Complex II) catalyzes the oxidation of succinate to fumarate in the mitochondrial Krebs cycle, and it also plays a role in respiration.
4. Complex 2 is not a proton pump.
