Question

Is cos^2a-sin^2a/cos^2a+sin^2a=1-tan^2a/1+tan^2a ??

Open in App
Solution

cos^2a-sin^2a/cos^2a+sin^2a=1-tan^2a/1+tan^2a

yes its is right

Take LHS

LHS = cos^2a-sin^2a/cos^2a+sin^2a

Divide numerator and denominator by cos^2a

LHS = (1-sin^2a/cos^2a)/(1+sin^2a/cos^2a)
=1-tan^2a/1+tan^2a
