Diabetes is not a genetic disorder so it cannot be considered as dominant or recessive disorder.
Diabetes insipidus is a condition in which the kidneys are unable to conserve water.The amount of water conserved is controlled by antidiuretic hormone (ADH), also called vasopressin.
Causes: It may have hereditary causes or may be caused by the less or excess production of ADH. In both cases, kidney cannot function properly.
Symptoms:
1. Fever, vomiting, or diarrhoea.
2. Excessive urination and extreme thirst.
3. Appetite and growth may also get affected.
4. Also people with DI may quickly become dehydrated if they do not drink enough water.
Diabetes mellitus is characterised by abnormally high glucose levels in the blood.
Causes: It is caused due to the deficiency of hormone, called insulin.
Symptoms:
Frequent urination, increased thirst, and increased hunger.
Serious cases may result in heart disease, kidney failure or damage to the eyes.
