Thermite is the mixture of metal and some other metal oxide capable of exothermic reduction-oxidation reaction called thermite reaction.

And not every thermite reaction is aluminothermite reaction, aluminothermite reaction is when we use aluminium as a reducing agent at high temperature in a thermite reaction.
