Solution

Ecosystem:

An ecosystem is a self-contained unit of living things(plants, animals, and decomposers), & their nonliving environment (soil, air, and water). Eg. – a grassland and a forest.

Community: The community refers to the total population in a specific area or region.

  1. The Ecosystem is not bigger than a community.
  2. The hierarchical order is:
    1. Organism
    2. Population
    3. Community
    4. Ecosystem
    5. Biosphere
  3. According to these five levels of organization in an ecosystem, all these levels are listed above according to their size in increasing order i.e. from small to large.
  4. The population refers to a group of individuals or an organism of a single species that are living together within a particular geographic area whereas the community refers to the total population in a specific area or region.
  5. The community is smaller than the ecosystem but larger than the population.
