• When we talk about the story of the origin of various life forms then evolution is considered as a process.
• Example- the complex life forms (Man) arose through a gradual process from a simpler life form (prokaryote)
• On the other hand when we describe the story of life on earth,evolution is considered as a consequence of a process called natural selection.
• Example- the appearance of antibiotic resistant microbes is an end result of natural selection.
• Evolution can be both a process or the result of a process. It depends on the perspective. If we are talking about the origin of various life forms then evolution is a process. But if we are describing the story of life on earth, then evolution can be considered as a consequence of a process.
