Fire is opaque. It emits heat and light. We can see an object only when reflected light from that object reaches our eyes. The light produced by fire overpowers the reflected light from any object behind the fire. The light emitted by fire is much brighter than the reflected light. Thus, when these reflected lights pass through the fire, they get diminished by the light emitted by fire. The reflected light thus fails to reach our eyes and hence, fire is opaque.
