When Ammonium Iodide () is treated with concentrated Sulphuric Acid () then Iodine () gas, Hydrogen Sulphide, Ammonium Bisulphate, and water is produced.
Iodine fumes are violet in colour.
So, when Ammonium Iodide is treated with concentrated Sulphuric Acid violet fumes of Iodine are formed.
