It was after the world war II when the East Germany and west Germany rapidly made the transition from murderous dictatorship to model democracy.The west Germany was controlled by France, the United Kingdom, and the United States, were merged on 23 May 1949 to form the Federal Republic of Germany where as on 7 October 1949, the Soviet Zone or East Germany became the German Democratic Republic.These two were united in 1990.
