Question

Is guttation affected by root pressure?

Open in App
Solution

Root pressure

  1. The loss of water through hydathodes is known as guttation (water stomata).
  2. When the rate of transpiration is exceedingly low compared to the rate of water absorption, this process occurs.
  3. As a result, root pressure builds up, and water is squeezed out through hydathodes, which are unique pores located at vein ends.
  4. As a result, the development of root pressure causes guttation.
