Solution
Frictional force
Friction is the force that opposes the motion of a body when it comes in contact with the surface of another body.
It is an opposing force.
When we push an object like a box through a rough surface the vertical component of the pushing force acts downward direction, thus increases the total weight of the box. Due to this force of friction increases.
In another case if we pull the box the vertical component of the pulling force acts in an upward direction, thus reduces the weight of the box. Due to this friction between the box and the surface is also reduced.
So it is easy to pull the box than pushing on a rough surface.
