is it possible that average velocity of body is zero but its average speed is not zero explain

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student

Average velocity = Net displacement/time taken

Average speed = Total distance/time taken

Net displacement can be zero (when initial and final point are same) but total distance cannot be zero.

So, average velocity can be zero but average speed cannot be zero.
