Question

Is it possible to design a rectangular mango grove whose length is twice its breadth and the area is 800m2? If so, find its length and breadth.

Open in App
Solution

Let Breadth = b.

Given that length is twice its breath.

Length of the rectangle = 2b.

And given that Area of rectangle = 800 m2

But Area of rectangle = l x b = 2b x b

⇒ 2b2 = 800m2

⇒ b2 = 400m2

⇒ b = 20 m

∴ Length of the rectangle = 2b = 40 m.

Breadth of the rectangle = b = 20 m.

∴ It is possible to design a rectangular mango grove.
