Open in App
Solution

Eukaryotes:

  1. Eukaryotes are organisms that have a well-defined nucleus and organelles.
  2. Eg. Plants, Animals.

Lac operon:

  1. The genes present in E. coli and other bacteria that are in charge of absorbing and metabolizing lactose are collectively referred to as the lactose operon (also known as the lac operon).
  2. The genes of the operon produce proteins that enable bacteria to utilize lactose as a fuel source.
  3. When glucose levels are low but lactose is available, the lac operon, an inducible operon that utilizes lactose as a source of energy, activates.
  4. In eukaryotes, lac operons are not present.
