Open in App
Solution

Parasite:

  • The organisms living inside or on the surface of the host are known as parasites.
  • Parasites are dependent on food obtained from the host organism.
  • Parasites are mainly of two types - Endoparasite and Ectoparasite.
  • Endoparasites live inside the organism or host.
  • Ectoparasite lives on the external (outside) surface of the host.

Leach:

  • Leach is a blood-sucking parasite.
  • The parasite lives on or in the skin but not within the body.
  • They reside on the host body and suck their blood.
  • So leach is an ectoparasite as it lives outside the host body, not inside.
