Opaque object

1. An opaque object is neither transparent (allowing all light to pass through) nor translucent (allowing some light to pass through).
2. A lighted candle flame is opaque and we cannot see through it. But light spreading away from the light source is transparent and we can see through it.

Explanation:

1. When a lighted candle flame is placed on a table then we can see that the flame through which light is coming out is opaque and we cannot see through it but when this light spreads away from the light source then it becomes transparent and we can see through it clearly.
2. Hence we can say that light will behave as an opaque object when the rays of light are converging or concerned at a point but it will behave as a transparent object when the rays of light are diverging or spread out.
