  2. Physical quantity which has both magnitude and direction is called a vector quantity.
  3. Linear momentum is given by the equation P=mv
  4. Mass is a scalar quantity and velocity is a vector quantity.
  5. Product of scalar quantity and a vector quantity is a vector quantity.

Hence linear momentum is a vector quantity because it has magnitude as well as direction.
