• A pure substance is something that is composed of a single element and has no any impurities.
• Matter around us that we commonly observe are air, water, soil, etc.
• Air is composed of many gases like Nitrogen$\left(\mathrm{N}\right)$, Oxygen$\left(\mathrm{O}\right)$, Carbon dioxide$\left({\mathrm{CO}}_2\right)$ etc. So we can say that air is not a pure matter.
• Water is a combination of two elements Hydrogen $\left(\mathrm{H}\right)$, and Oxygen$\left(\mathrm{O}\right)$. So it is also not pure.

So, we can say that matter around us is not pure.
