No, means of transport and modes of transport are not same.

In simple words means of tranport refers to the vehicles which are used for tranportation.
eg: bus,car,aeroplane,boat etc.

Whereas modes of transport refers to the type of area in which tranportation occurs.There are three different modes of transport.We can either travel by road, or we an travel in the air or in the water.
