Question

is melting of ice endothermic or exothermic. why

Open in App
Solution

Think about it this way.

To melt ice, energy needs to be supplied to it. Only then will the intermolecular bonds break and it will melt into liquid. So, since ice absorbs heat energy, the process is endothermic.

Hope this helps!
