Question

Is Mn(OH)2 soluble or insoluble in water?

Open in App
Solution

Manganese hydroxide:

  1. The inorganic chemical with the formula Mn(OH)2 is manganese(II)hydroxide.
  2. It is a white solid, however, samples quickly turn darker when exposed to air because of oxidation.
  3. Many inorganic hydroxide salts are insoluble in water. Aside from salts containing alkali metal ions such as NH4+,Ba+2,Sr+2,Ca+2or Tl+
  4. Also it has a low value for solubility i.e. 0.00034g per 100mL

Therefore, Mn(OH)2 is insoluble in water.
