Is molecular mass , atomic mass , gram molecular mass, gram atomic mass one mole.

(Like, is 12amu C one mole particles)

Solution

Molecular mass is the mass of 1 molecule and gram molecular mass is the mass of 1 mole molecules (just to keep the numeric value same).

for example - mass of H2O molecule is 18 AMU (atomic mass unit)

while mass of 1 mole of water is 18 g . So thus 18 g is also known as water’s gram molecular mass.

You may note that the numeric value is same.

Gram atomic mass is the mass, in grams, of one mole of atoms in a monatomic chemical element. It is numerically equal to the relative atomic mass or atomic weight in grams. The atomic mass of an element expressed in grams is called gram atomic mass. Gram atomic mass is the mass of one mole of an element. It is determined by taking the atomic weight for an element on the periodic table and expressing it in gram. Gram atomic mass is the mass of one mole of a chemical element equal in grams to the element's atomic weight. A mass in grams numerically equal to the molecular weight of an essence or the sum of all the atomic masses in its molecular formula. Gram atomic mass in easy words is the mass of a sample of element. The quantity of an element, weight in grams is numerically equal to the atomic weight of the element.
