Oocyte:
The oocyte is a developing egg that is an immature egg.
Oocyte differentiates into the mature egg (ovum) by the process of meiosis.
So, there are two types of oocytes - primary oocytes and secondary oocytes.
Primary oocytes give rise to secondary oocytes after meiosis I.
And a secondary oocyte gives rise to an ovum or an egg after meiosis II.
