An oscilloscope is a common laboratory tool for displaying and analyzing the waveform of electrical signals. The device, in effect, plots the instantaneous signal voltage against time.

Voltmeter-

A voltmeter, often known as a voltage meter, is a device that measures the voltage differential between two points in an electrical or electronic circuit.

  1. The type of oscilloscope determines the answer.
  2. The oscilloscope can be regarded as a voltmeter in general if it is a Cathode Ray Oscilloscope (CRO).
  3. This can be used to determine how much the two points differ.
