Is our skin covered with epidermis or epithelial tissue .What is difference between them.

Dermis means skin.
Epidermis means outer skin.

Epidermal cells are layers of epithelial cells found on our skin. ..

So, epidermal cells are nothing but epithelial cells.

Epithelium are special cells that cover almost all organs in our body. Our skin is also covered by them.

But, unlike the other organs, our skin has sweat pores, hair etc. So, we need special epithelium for that purpose. Also, our skin is open to outside world. So, special protection is needed.

Such special epithelial cells make the epidermis. Epidermis has 4-5 layers of cells, which helps to protect us from foreign materials like bacteria.

So, epidermal cells are only found on skin. But epithelial cells are found covering almost all organs.
