Pericycle:

  1. Pericycle is known as the ground tissue composed of cells that surround the vascular (phloem and xylem) tissues.
  2. The pericycle comprises non-vascular parenchyma (thin-walled living tissue) cells located just inside the endodermis.
  3. It is known as the outermost part of the stele of plants.
  4. It contains the recurrent patches of parenchyma and sclerenchyma (tissue functioned to provide mechanical support).
