Oscillation is defined as a periodic variation in the value of a substance between two values or around its central value.
Period and oscillation are not synonymous.
The difference between a period and oscillation is that a period is defined.
A period is the length of time it takes for an oscillation to complete one cycle.
Hence, period and oscillations are not the same.
