Open in App
Solution

Scalar

Scalar quantity only has magnitude and no direction.

Vector

Vector quantity has both magnitude and direction

Pressure

  1. Pressure is the ratio of force to area.
    Pressure=ForceArea=FA
  2. SI unit Pascal (Pa).
  3. It is a scalar quantity that is, it has magnitude and no direction, it acts in all directions

Example: Force inside a closed container acts in all directions but the pressure is the same everywhere

Hence, pressure is a scalar quantity.
