Question

Is sea and ocean water acidic

Open in App
Solution

Sea water’s typical pH, like most natural water, is alkaline or basic. Its range is given as 7.5 to 8.4. This is (among other reasons) because most of the dissolved minerals picked up by groundwater and carried eventually to the ocean are pH increasers.
