Is sound energy a form of kinetic energy?
Sound energy: When a force, such as sound or pressure, causes a substance or object to vibrate. Sound energy is the end consequence. Energy waves flow through the substance. Those sound waves are referred to as kinetic mechanical energy.
Kinetic energy: Kinetic energy is a type of energy that an item or particle possesses as a result of its movement. The item accelerates and develops kinetic energy when it is subjected to work that transfers energy by producing a net force.
Hence, sound is a kinetic energy source. Sound-transmitting molecules have kinetic energy because they flow outward as waves in all directions.
