Is the area of the square equal to the area of the triangle?
Assuming side of each square box is 1cm

Solution

Let us take the side of each box be 1 cm
Area of each box is 1 sq cm
Then area of square will be calculated by taking sum of areas of 9 boxes :
9×1=9 sq cm
Now area of triangle
base : 6 cm
height : 3 cm
Area :
(3×6)÷2=9 cm
Hence the area of the square is equal to the area of rectangle
